Art Career Information
Courses in art aim to develop students’ perceptual skills, their access to the imagination, and their ability to think critically and independently. Instruction in the use of art materials and specific art processes enable students to create original artwork reflecting their evolving vision. Students should expect to extend themselves through a wide range of media, including film, video, computing, sound, installation and performance. In addition, students will also be exposed to drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Students also gain a thorough education in the History and Theory of Art and have the opportunity to reflect upon their emerging practice and its context.
