Radiology is an important medical field that involves passing x-rays through a human body for the purpose of diagnosing medical conditions. There are several different medical imaging technologies within the field of radiology, including “plain” or “projection” radiography (this is your traditional x-ray), as well as the more modern techniques of ultrasound sonography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and CT scanning.
In order to pursue a career as a radiology technician, x-ray technician, or medical sonographer, you must receive some educational training, typically offered in the form of a diploma or Associates Degree program.
